What is a pump?
A pump or water pump is a mechanical device for moving and transferring all kinds of liquids, which by increasing the pressure, causes the liquid to be moved to a higher height (by increasing the head) or even lower (pool or tank). Pumps have many applications in various industries. Pumps use different energy sources, including manual, electric, internal combustion engines, and wind powered pumps. Pumps have different sizes, ranging from microscopic sizes for medical work to large industrial pumps.

In other words, the pump takes mechanical energy from an external source such as a motor and transfers it to the liquid fluid that is passing through it. As a result, the energy of the fluid increases after leaving the pump. Pumps are used to transfer or move fluid from one point to another in a plumbing or hydraulic system. Pumps have different types, each of which has a specific application.

In the following, you can see the types of pumps.
